OFFICE WIESBADEN: Customer Service & Marketing Specialist (M/F/D)

Starting date: June 1, 2022

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Consulting with our military guests via phone, e-mail, social media and WhatsApp while providing an exceptional level of service
  • Booking trips for guests with us
  • Process refunds, credits & transfers
  • Create bus chart, rooming & guest list for each trip
  • Manage key guest-facing marketing activities
  • Edit and write compelling and informative travel content that reflects our company voice
  • Other duties as required and assigned

Qualities appropriate for this position:

  • Minimum 2 years Customer Service & Marketing experience
  • An influencer – a natural networker who loves talking to people and understands the military community
  • Excellent listening skill and a willingness to exceed guest expectations with every interaction
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skill
  • Sense of detail
  • High level of initiative
  • Ability to work independently and effectively in a fast-paced environment; you work effectively without a lot of support or structure
  • Experience in traveling in Europe
  • Ability to commit 30 hours per week, 11:00am to 5:00pm

OFFICE WIESBADEN: Operations Manager (M/F/D)

Starting date: July 1, 2022

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Procurement and negotiation of transportation, trip leader, local guide, hotel, meal, entrance, and optional experiences
  • Manage flow, safety and quality of group trip components to ensure an outstanding and smooth experience
  • Responsible for budgets, costs, and contracts allocation
  • Constant communication with suppliers and the Trip Leaders to execute externally the trip
  • Develop and improve new and existing trips and destinations
  • Management & mentorship of Trip Leaders team
  • Responsible of training new employees
  • Emergency management
  • Optimize internal processes (roadmap, goal setting)
  • Other duties as required and assigned

Qualities appropriate for this position:

  • Minimum 2 years experience in the group travel industry – operations role
  • Creative thinker with high adaptability and problem-solving skills
  • Self-starter with the ability to work independently
  • Experience of developing travel products from initial conception
  • Experience contracting accommodation and activity suppliers
  • Commercial awareness with strong negotiating skills
  • Excellent time management with the ability to deliver to deadlines
  • Foreign language skills (German, Italian and / or Spanish) are desirable
  • A valid driving license and a car is advantageous
  • The right to live and work in Germany

DEPARTURE GRAFENWÖHR OR KAISERSLAUTERN (GERMANY): FREELANCE EUROPEAN TRIP LEADER (M/F/D)

Explore Europe is looking for Trip Leaders for several trips in 2022 and beyond!

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Greet and check-in all passengers upon arrival for departure
  • Support the group throughout the trip ensuring all passengers are accounted for during designated times (bus breaks, city tours, etc.)
  • Provide helpful information relevant to cities including transportation, tourist attractions, excursions, etc.
  • Demonstrate a professional appearance of Explore Europe to corporate entities such as hotels, bus companies, city tour companies, and other partners
  • Handle on-the-spot issues with American passengers in a professional manner
  • Communicate between all parties including bus drivers, hotel, local guides, etc.
  • Send trip debrief reports and feedback in a timely manner
  • Update our trip leader manual
  • If interested and for extra bonus: support us with blog articles and/or photos for our social media marketing
  • For Senior Trip Leaders: Onboard and train Jr. Trip Leaders during trips
  • Other tasks as required

Qualities appropriate for this position:

  • Enjoy traveling by bus
  • Enthusiastic personality
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to work independently
  • Experience in group travel in and to major tourist cities in Europe
  • English language proficiency
  • Other European languages would be helpful
  • Ability to research destinations (e.g. opening hours for restaurants, shops, pharmacy, highlights, attractions, public transport etc.)
  • Transportation to our departure point in Grafenwöhr or Kaiserslautern

OFFICE WIESBADEN: 3-MONTH INTERNSHIP IN TOURISM MANAGEMENT (M/F/D)

Starting dates: 19 September 2022, 2 January & 17 April 2023

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Assist in planning trips securing group bookings with hotels, restaurants, and tourist attractions
  • Creating rooming lists and on-trip itineraries
  • Managing the accounts
  • Prospecting and identifying new business partners
  • Settling accounts with our suppliers
  • Prepare and assist with weekly sales, eCommerce, website and social media performance reports
  • Maintain a database and calendar of operations
  • Contribute to our website redesign
  • Other duties as required and assigned

Qualities appropriate for this position:

  • Enrolled student (preferably in economics, business, trade, tourism)
  • Ability to commit 35 hours per week
  • Travel experience and passionate about travel
  • Fluency in English (written and spoken), good German, Italian & Spanish (favourable but not required)
  • Ability to understand and work with other cultures
  • Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
  • Quick learner and a proven problem solver
  • Enjoys working with numbers and Microsoft Excel
  • Self-driven and flexible
  • Able to analyse and question processes
  • Highly sociable and energetic
