Join us as we visit Berlin – the main seat of power in Germany! You will have the unique chance to see the German capital in its rarest form, as the entire city becomes a canvas for incredible light and video projections! Discover the infamous capital of the Third Reich, to world leader in culture and personal freedom. You’ll visit East and West Berlin in the company of an expert local tour guide who’ll introduce you to a range of sights, from the Brandenburg Gate to Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe, the Reichstag building and Checkpoint Charlie in the former American sector. And if you fancy shopping and entertainment there’s KaDeWe, a heaven for shopaholics! You will also have the chance to eat at one of Berlin’s most popular traditional eateries. And for 360° views of the city, we’ll arrange access to the Berlin River Cruise – so you can see everything from a different perspective!

Daily itinerary

Day 1 (Friday, October 04th, 2024)

Your trip begins with a direct overnight drive by bus from Kaiserslautern to Berlin.

Day 2 (Saturday, October 05th, 2024)

On arrival, we’ll kick off the day with an included breakfast buffet followed by a walking tour around Berlin. You will get the chance to see some of Berlin’s most iconic sights up close, including the Brandenburg Gate (the symbol of a reunited Berlin) and parts of the original Berlin Wall, where you’ll learn about the role the city played during several of the most significant historical events of the 20th century. You will also stand side by side with Checkpoint Charlie, which marks the most famous crossing point between East and West Berlin during the Cold War. Following the tour, you’re free to explore Germany’s magnificent capital, before meeting up for our exciting optional activities:

Guided Optional Activity in the afternoon – Berlin River Cruise
Get an overview of Berlin as you relax and cruise through the city for an hour along the Spree river . This is a great way to see Berlin’s highlights: the Reichstag, Bellevue Palace, the Berliner Dom, Museum Island and more.  An audio guide will tell you all about the city’s history.

Following the optional cruise, you’re free to explore Germany’s magnificent capital, where you’ll also be able to soak up the atmosphere of Berlin’s annual Festival of Lights, when this otherwise dark city is illuminated by breathtaking light art!

In the evening, travel back to Kaiserslautern.

Day 3 (Sunday, October 06th, 2024)

Estimated time of return back in Kaiserslautern is 6:30 am.

Transportation
Included transportation on this tour is by bus. Berlin is best explored on foot and public transportation.

Baggage Allowance
Each adult is entitled to one luggage and one personal item. Luggage should be able to be stored below the bus and the personal item should contain whatever you might need on the bus. Pillows and blankets do not count for the personal item. If you have additional items such as strollers, carseats, etc. please send us a message to make those arrangements.

Currency
Euro is the currency you will be using on your tour. We strongly advise that you take debit/bank cards and credit cards, which can be used to withdraw cash at local banks, as needed. You can use most debit/credit cards at ATMs, but make sure to check with your home bank about withdrawal fees. We suggest that you inform your bank and credit card company of your travel plans, so that they won’t confuse your international purchases for fraudulent charges.
